Logan City - Economic Profile Snapshot

Logan City covers over 900 square kilometres, the population count of the City is 277,568 (as at 30 June 2009) and is expected to further grow by up to 200,000 in the next 20 years. Most of this growth will occur in the western areas of the City. With an estimated gross regional product of $8.98 billion, Logan City is a major economic destination within south east Queensland. The City has in excess of 25,000 businesses employing an estimated 80,000 people.

Key industries in the City’s economy include manufacturing and retail sectors, business and community services, building and construction and agricultural industries. This already diverse economy has the potential to grow and diversify further in the next 4 years while adding a stronger focus on technology and knowledge based industries.
