Tyco moves into SouthWest1 Enterprise Park

23

Tyco plans to invest around $12 million and employ approximately 250 people at their new location at SouthWest1 Enterprise Park which will be their state headquarters.

The company, a fire safety and security giant includes brands such as Wormald and ADT Security, has leased a 5000sqm site at South West 1 Enterprise Park under a plan to expand and relocate from its base at Cannon Hill in August.

Wormald Queensland general manager David Ross said the company was consolidating its services from across greater Brisbane in the hope of establishing a long-term future in Logan. ADT's Sjef Klaassen said the site was ideal for their needs, with its proximity to major arterials and access to a qualified workforce.

Describing the announcement as a coup for the city, Logan City Mayor Pam Parker said the overall investment Tyco would bring to the area was estimated at around $12million. Logan Chamber of Commerce president Michael Franzmann said the announcement was a good sign for future development of the city. "It's definitely positive when a large organisation moves into the region and creates jobs for local people,'' he said. "It sends out a signal to all other major companies that Logan is here, we're willing and ready to have large organisations move into the area."
