Think Local Act Logan
If you are a local business that wants to increase your exposure within the local community … then this program is for you.
Logan Office of Economic Development in conjunction with the 101FM Live & Local Expo and the Combined Chambers of Commerce is launching a new program on the 20th of March 2010 that is designed to showcase local business to local residents and consequently increase the number of local people that buy their products and services from Logan based businesses.
Supporting local business generates significant economic benefits for a local community, some of which include:
- Significantly more money re-circulates within the community when consumers buy from local businesses. This is largely because local businesses tend to buy from other local businesses, rather than national and international supply chains.
- Local businesses tend to stay in the local community; they don't move around, this results in increased economic benefit for many years, often many generations.
- Local business owners have a tendency to invest in their own communities and show increased interest in making sure the community is thriving and heading in the right direction.
Based on these benefits and a range of others the Logan Office of Economic Development has put together a program that will increase the spotlight on local businesses. Some of the planned initiatives include:
- Launch of the program at the 101FM Live & Local Expo on the 20th of March 2010.
- A local Rewards Card program that aims to generate increased customer traffic for participating members.
- A monthly media campaign in the local newspapers, radio and other mediums. This will highlight rewards and activities happening at that time.
- Proposed lucky shopper campaign to be run over a 4 week period.
- Networking and information sessions for members, providing an opportunity for members to learn from one another about how to get the most out of the program.
- Every member will receive a marketing kit including material that demonstrates you are part of the 'Think Local, Act Logan' program.
