National Manufacturing Week / Austech 2010
Logan well represented with strong outcomes at National Manufacturing Week/Austech 2010.
For the 8th year in succession, the Logan Office of Economic Development participated in National Manufacturing Week/Austech from 11-14 May 2010. Widely recognised as the largest national trade event for the advanced manufacturing industry, this year's event was held in Sydney with show results indicating 200+ exhibitors and more than 13,000 visitors participating.
The advanced manufacturing industry is a priority industry for Logan and as a result, trade space was taken again this year for Logan City to have a presence. The purpose of this trade space was for exhibitors and delegates looking at expansion or relocation opportunities into Queensland/Logan, and also to provide space to Logan based companies to meet and showcase their products and services.
In addition to LOED's attendance, nine companies from Logan and an additional two regional government organisations directly involved in the manufacturing sector (QMI Solutions and Enterprise Connect) participated. LOED is following up on more than fifteen very strong business leads from the event and, as a result of the success of the 2010 event, is committed to participating in next year's National Manufacturing Week/Austech 2011 from 24-27 May in Melbourne.
