LOED and AFGC partnership starting to "bear fruit' for Logan City
A clear statement to the Australian food industry was made by Logan in its annual sponsorship of the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC).
The food and beverage industry is a sector that has been identified as a key growth industry for Logan due to anticipated growth in regional and domestic consumption (rising population) and export markets.
Partnering with AFGC is a progressive and strategic move for LOED as the AFGC's members comprise 90% of the $100 billion Australian food and beverage industry. LOED attended the Senior Executive Highlands event on the Central Coast from 26-28 May with direct access to over 140 Australian and global senior executives representing Australia's leading food and beverage processors and manufacturers.
Highlights/outcomes from the event included:
- Exposure Logan received to the senior executive audience (primarily Sydney and Melbourne based)
- A clear message to the companies that Logan is targeting the food and beverage industry and supply chain
- Endorsement from leading presenters that Southeast Queensland is the growth sector for Australia and needs to be strongly considered in growth/expansion plans;
- Lead generation; and
- Strong support from companies with investments in Logan notably National Foods and Metcash
In addition to the conference, LOED held several follow up meetings in Sydney with companies looking at Queensland expansion as a result of National Manufacturing Week/Austech 2010, direct marketing campaigns and inbound enquiries.
