The BizConnect Centre, a Logan City Council subsidised service, offers small businesses and prospective entrepreneurs the assistance they need to turn a good idea into a great business, or to grow an already good business into a great one. Since its inception in 2008, BizConnect Centre has assisted nearly 1,000 businesses, with subsequent job growth of nearly 22% for Logan City.  BizConnect clients start with an informal one on one consultation, before they proceed to business and marketing workshops.

The BizConnect Centre not only runs in-house workshops at its Springwood office but also organizes workshop tours of outstanding Logan businesses that showcase the information available to the Centre's clients.

Recently, 26 clients ranging from people keen to research starting their own business to seasoned business owners joined the BizConnect team to see and hear the amazing story behind the growth of Glen and Colleen Elin's Animal World Pet Motel at Cornubia.

Glen and Colleen have worked closely with the BizConnect Centre over a number of years and are a shining example of what the team call Critical Non-Essentials, a concept originally pioneered by Paddi Lunde, a brilliant Capalaba dentist and businessman.

Animal World Pet Motel have developed their Critical Non-Essentials on the understanding that people measure what they don't know by what they do. Unless their customers stayed and watch every aspect of the care delivered to their pets then they have no basis to measure BUT Glen and Colleen understand that people start measuring the stuff they do know from the second they see the business and have developed the visuals around their business to where you can't help but think that these are the people to look after your pets.

Everyone who joined the tour on the 29^th of October were shown right through the facility and were able to quiz Glen on every part of how he built this amazing business and how he manages to remain the leader in his industry.
